Hi everyone –
If you’re from the States, this week we’ll all take a moment to eat some turkey, break bread, and reflect on the blessing in our lives. Give thanks.
And I’m plenty grateful this year…
First off, after years of work, my first novel was finally released in August!!! Seeing Night Walkerin print, holding it in my hands, and hearing from readers has been such a huge blessing that I have a hard time putting it into words.
I’m also buried in edits and revisions for Night Demon, Book 2 in the Night Series, but while I was working on those, my fabulous publisher Entangled Publishing emailed me the new Night Demon cover!!! I am so thankful for abs!!! LOL
Also, Night Walker, is currently in the final 5 for the iBook Buzz Book of the Month!!! WOOT!!! We’re getting close to first place… You can vote here…. http://www.ibookbuzz.com/Vote-for-Next-Book.html Thanks for all your support!!! J
But beyond the books, I’m very excited about being the President of my local RWA Chapter in San Diego for 2012. We have such a committed and inspired group of writers, and I’m honored and humbled to be stepping up to lead this year. I’m learning so much about the industry and my craft every day, and I’m very grateful for the opportunity to help our San Diego writing community grow.
It wouldn’t be a Thanksgiving blog without giving a shout out to my family.
Thanks to my Mom for always making me believe that I could achieve anything and leading by example. You never do anything halfway, and I hope I always follow in your footsteps.
Thanks to my kids for being the most amazing young people I’ve ever met. Panda you work so hard when most people are still sleeping. I’m always inspired by your commitment to your passion for skating. And to my son, Reno, I am so proud to be your Mom and you’ll never know how special it has been for me to perform with you and watch you perform.
Both of my kids have been my bliss for the past 20 years. I’m so lucky to have you both in my life!
And to my husband, Ken, it makes me teary-eyed when I think about how supportive you’ve been. You challenged me to follow my bliss and write. Every tough challenge that knocked me down or blocked my path, you were always there with your arms wide open, and your confidence in me never wavered. Knowing you’re always in my corner, come what may, has been the greatest gift, and I’m so thankful we found each other. Thanks for always believing in me!
Sorry for getting all smushy, but if you didn’t know it already, I’m the biggest sap in the world! LOL
To all my readers and blog buddies, I hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!! Thanks SO much for reading and commenting on my blogs! It really does mean the world to me…
So what are you thankful for this year? J

Happy Turkey Day to you also Lisa. I’m not a big fan of noisy get togethers. I’ll do all the cooking for the day but then I slip quietly into my computer/library and get away from the noise. If anyone wants to find me they know where I am. We have one or two family or extended family members who are like me in that respect.
Why do I do it then? Well, my partner of 39 years is a TURKEY.. She was born 11/26/52 so this is her Birthday party. My brother brings a cake every year, and the kids will supply the drinks, deserts and side dishes. Everyone has fun, and then my girls will help clean up the disaster area while the rug rats play in my partner’s computer/den/craft room.
I hope you have a wonderful day and return to us refreshed and full of good dirt to share.
Happy Birthday to your partner Nora!!! 🙂
And I hope you enjoy the holiday even if you need to retreat to a quiet place… LOL 🙂
THanks so much for stopping by and commenting! Happy Thanksgiving!!!

*who is very thankful for exclamation points!* 🙂
What am I thankful for this year? Quite a lot…
I had a rough year last year what with a breakup and what not. Oh, boo hoo, get over it. Anyways, Late last year, I picked up the House of Night series by P.C. Cast and from then on, I just kept on reading like crazy. So, I’m thankful for the painful heartbreak that introduced me to the beauty of reading.
I am also thankful for the chance to have met you Lisa 😀 I couldn’t have traded it for anything. And finally reading your book, it’s an amazing feeling 🙂 Hope I get to do more things with you and see you at my show!
So finally, I’m thankful to be back in theater acting again. I am certainly thankful for the opportunity that was given to me this year(semester) and I hope I’ve made my director proud. I hope that my mom will make it to one of the shows and see my progress.
Okay, mushy time over. I think I would either gush more about Alex Pettyfer or do something… something 🙂
Awwww I’m very thankful we met too, Arianne!!! 🙂
THanks so much for all your support for my books and your online firendship!!!
I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!
