Hi Everyone –
The day is here… FINALLY!!! LOL
Moonlight is out in the world!!! 🙂
But before I just into book celebration, today is an extra special day for another reason too… It’s also my wedding anniversary!!! I wanted to share something from the acknowledgements at the back of Moonlight…
Special thanks to my amazing husband, Ken. Your belief and faith in me and my stories makes me feel like anything is possible and that is the most priceless treasure ever.
I love you, Ken!!! Thanks for holding my hand through thick and thin on this crazy publishing journey…
Yes, we got married in Vegas by Elvis and this group shot of our family and friends all wearing Elvis sunglasses is one of the most fun memories ever! 🙂
Thanks for giving me a minute to get smushy for my Sweetie!
Now to the BOOK!
“A fabulous read. Lisa Kessler is an up and coming author to remember!”
Sherrilyn Kenyon #1 NYT Bestselling Author of the Dark-Hunter Series
Rancher Adam Sloan is more than meets the eye. As the heir to his Pack, the sexy werewolf’s biggest challenge is keeping his kin’s true nature under wraps. But a group of jaguar shifters threatens to reveal the pack, blasting into town killing humans in plain sight. And when he smells one at the local diner, his standing orders are to take her out.
Lana Turpin doesn’t realize she’s a moving target. Raised in the foster system, she only knows that she blacks out during the new moon and wakes up without remembering a thing. But now she’s being tracked by some strange organization that wants her back–even though she’s never stepped foot inside their compound. And the stranger across the diner is watching her like an enemy.
It should be a simple mission for Adam, but when he touches the frustratingly beautiful Lana, his inner wolf howls…mate. Now, the two must find and stop the people who hunt her…and Adam must keep his own family from killing the only woman he will ever love.

I’ve been asked quite a few questions about how I came up with the idea for the Moon Series and why I chose to put the Pack in Reno, Nevada, so I thought I’d give you some answers in pictures… Ready? 🙂
When I started writing the book, I wanted Adam to have a job I knew a lot about and it would need to be a place with lots of property so the Pack could meet up there for wolf business without attracting any attention. That made it simple for me.
A horse ranch!
I grew up on a cattle ranch when I was a baby… So horses were a natural part of my life. I really hadn’t ever lived without them.
As I got older, my parents split up and my Mom remarried a horse trainer! We had a huge barn with up to 28 horses at a time. It was a LOT of work, but I was in heaven. We used to travel to big Morgan Horse Shows and writing Moonlight gave me an opportunity to go back in time…
This is Melvin, the first horse I raised from a baby. I was about 14 in that picture and that was Mel’s first show. Doug, my step-dad, had a way with horses and taught me everything he knew.
Eventually I sold Mel and then I raised a mare that I immortalized in Moonlight.
I lost her about 10 years ago, and I still get teary eyed thinking about that goodbye. She was the sweetest horse ever and such a great listener!
Here’s Bubbles….
So there’s the ranch… And why did I pick Reno?
I traveled to Reno a couple of times and both times I fell in love. It’s got the vibrant downtown area always on the go… And within an hour you can be in the mountains and near Lake Tahoe. It was perfect for a Pack to thrive. But I have to admit it goes even deeper.
I’m a San Diego native, so snow isn’t something I have much experience with… But Reno changed all that!
It snowed while we were outside!!! 😀
It was so fun to go through old pictures and research online while I wrote this book… I can’t wait to go back and visit again!!!
I hope you enjoyed the pictorial behind the scenes tour of MOONLIGHT!!! I can’t wait for you to read the book…
Here are some fun goodies too!
