Hi everyone –
What a super Monday I had!!!
First thing this morning my publisher tweeted that the mass-market edition of Night Walker had already gone live on Amazon! WOOT!!! You can see it here… http://www.amazon.com/Night-Walker-The-Series/dp/1620612313/ref=sr_1_13?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1334635133&sr=1-13
And tonight I celebrated World Book Night by giving away a case of new copies of Stephen King’s The Stand!!!!
I had such a blast meeting total strangers and talking books! One guy at a Starbucks saw me handing out books to people and came up to ask if he could get one…
I met a college student who has always wanted to read Stephen King, but never had… I also met a woman who was going to read/translate it for her husband because he didn’t speak English.
It was so cool to see people hesitate for a second, not believing it was really free, and then start to smile and flip through the pages when they realized there were no strings attached.
As a lover of stories, it did my heart good to see people excited to receive a book! J
I hope they host World Book Night again next year… You can find out more here… http://www.us.worldbooknight.org/about-world-book-night/what-is-world-book-night
And if you received a book from World Book Night, I hope you’ll tell us where you were when it happened!
So fun!!!
Anyway, back to Night Walker… I don’t think it’s in the Barnes & Noble stores yet, but if you do happen to see a copy on their shelves, PLEASE snap a pic and post it on facebook or email it to me… I’m going to be offering prizes for the best “Night Walker in the wild (book store)” pics! Can’t wait to see what you come up with…
Thanks for all the support!!!
Lisa
that’s so cool Lisa! You just stood at Starbucks and gave them away? Like out of the blue?
Did u just hand it to anyone who passed you?
I visited a Starbucks and the food court at Parkway Plaza mall and just approached people who were eating or drinking coffee and told them about World Book Night and asked if they’d ever read The Stand. It was so fun!
Only one guy passed on taking the book because he said Stephen King books are too scary for him! LOL He was really cool…
You should sign up to be a giver next year Arianne! You’d have a blast! 🙂
Lisa
I just signed up a couple minutes ago!! 🙂 I’m excited!
YAY!!! You’re going to have a blast next year’s Book Night!
Lisa
Never heard of world book night … I don’t often go to the chapters though as I told you your book will be there soon – it’s a hard cover?? Anyway congratulations I know how hard youve worked for this. (I’ll send that paper to you very soon I hope)
Hi Sue –
It’s not a hard back book, it’s a mass-market trade paperback size… It’s a little shorter and much fatter that the first edition, and the cover is a matte finish. It came our beautiful! 🙂
I got your story too! Trying to get my edits back to my editor for Night Thief and then I’ll take a look…
Thanks for commenting!

Hi Lisa. I, too, was a World Book Night “giver.” I gave out Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card. I chose a Reading Lab class at my community college. These students are working towards improving their reading sufficiently so they can get into the GED or Adult High School program. Ender’s Game is a good YA title that appeals to many of the fellas who are in the program. I’m actually going back to the class on Monday to have a book discussion with the students who have read the book so far. It’s been a great experience.
Hi Catherine –
That is SO cool that you did that!!! I gave mine away at a Starbucks and a shopping mall… I hope the book discussion goes well for you… Sounds like fun!!!
Lisa 🙂
Stopped in to see how things were going. I hope Night Walker is achieving world domination. Have a great week!
Awww thank you Ciara!!! We haven’t achieved World Domination just yet… But we’re working on it! LOL
Thanks for stopping by!
