Hi everyone –
It’s time for another Top five list, and this time I enlisted my Night Angels reader group on Facebook to vote for their favorites! And instead of 5 I have SIX! LOL So let’s get started…
#1 – Sedona Surrender
This book was such a surprise for me! Cole was the Pack doctor and a veterinarian, and I never expected he and Madison to set the pages on fire! This book wrote itself.
Here’s a little tease:
“It’s beautiful, right?” he whispered.
“Yeah.” I looked up at him, studying his profile in the soft hue of the moon. He wasn’t human. I toyed with the thought, testing the waters to see if anxiety flared again. There was a connection between us that I didn’t understand, or maybe I understood more than I wanted to admit. “Describe it to me through your wolf senses.”
He tensed beside me and finally met my eyes. “You sure?”
Was I? My pulse wasn’t racing. I could breathe. “Yeah.”
He pointed down at the pool of water below us. “My night vision isn’t as great as your brother’s, but there’s a deer in the shadows down there.” He pulled in a deep breath and added, “My sense of smell is much stronger than my vision. There’s a pack of coyotes just north of us, and judging by the faint scent of perfume, sweat, and beer, I’d guess the last group of humans left this spot about two hours before we got here.”
“You’re amazing.” I searched his eyes as a bewildered chuckle escaped my lips. “I still can’t quite pinpoint the second that my reality took such a sharp turn into the realm of things I always thought were impossible. Two days ago, my life seemed so ordinary, and then you drove up to my barn and lifted some kind of veil I never realized was there.”
His lips curved into a sexy, crooked smile. “To be fair, I didn’t tell you the truth about shifters until a few hours ago. I was just a large-animal vet taking care of cattle the day we met.”
I bit my lower lip as I slid my arms around his waist. “I’m still glad I met you.”
He chuckled, moving his rough hands up my arms to cup my face. “I can’t believe I found you.”
Found.
A lump formed in my throat. I really was his fairy tale. How was this possible? A hoarse whisper was all I could muster, but he was a werewolf. He’d hear me anyway. “I’m your mate. Are you sure?”
He sobered, taking in every inch of my face. “Yes. I know you are.”
I sighed, shaking my head. “How can this be real? I’ve led a totally ordinary life until the past few days. Now I’m hearing people’s thoughts, standing in the middle of nowhere at night with a werewolf and probably no cell signal, and I keep circling back to that one question. If fate really did choose me for your mate, then…why?”
He kissed me, tender and heart-stoppingly slow until I ached for more. His kisses were like a drug. He finally drew back, his gaze locked on mine. “Nothing about you is ordinary, Madison. You uprooted your life and started a new one here because you loved your brother and you wanted to be a part of his new family. That’s fearless. Most people wouldn’t do that, not even for family.”
I wasn’t sure I agreed with him, but he went on before I could debate it.
“You have been honest about everything from being new at your job, to your ambition to attend that fundraiser, to your promise not to give your heart unless it was forever.” He searched my eyes. “I’ve never been open like that in my entire life. You don’t play pretend. You’re all in.” He shook his head, his thumb stroking my cheek. “Even before you grabbed my hand and my wolf howled in my soul, recognizing you as our mate, I was bewitched by you.”
And there was the look I’d seen while we were singing, the intensity in his eyes that said I was the only thing in the world that mattered. Was it just the wolf instinct making him look at me like that?
I took a step back, unable to think straight while he was touching me. “We’ve only known each other for a few days. Is this just wolf instinct? Do you get any choice in it at all?”
He pressed his lips together and finally shrugged. “You’ve been honest with me, and I promised myself no more secrets, so the truth is, I don’t know. I can’t give you a guarantee. But I was interested in you before you ever touched me. I was struggling to stay away even though you were Chandler’s sister and off-limits. That had nothing to do with my wolf.” He sighed, his gaze lifting to my face again. “When you dragged me up to sing karaoke, something happened. Like the words were being torn out from our souls. It sounds like something I’d laugh off in a movie, except I was there. I felt it.” He paused. “Did you?”
“Yes.” The word fell out of my mouth before I could examine my answer, but it was true. I had. “Maybe you are my fairy tale, too. I’ve been holding out for forever. I just never dreamed I’d spend it with a werewolf.”
“Makes sense to me.” He chuffed. “You deserve more than any regular human guy could offer.”
I raised a brow, enjoying the sexy glint in his eyes. “Is that so? What other werewolf traits are you hiding?”
He came closer, grasping my hips to draw me against him as his big hands slid over my ass. Nuzzling my mouth, he whispered, “I can tell by your scent you want me as much as I want you.”
I hummed as I tasted his lips over and over. His erection throbbed between us, and as his hand ran up my back and into my hair, I ached to climb him like a damned tree. I broke the kiss, a little breathless. “Not just want. Need.”
He scooped me into his arms so fast I gasped. I clasped my hands behind his neck while he carried me toward the shimmering water like I weighed nothing. His balance never wavered as he raced along the rocky terrain. He lowered my feet to the ground under a stone outcropping.
I stared up into his eyes. “When you were telling me about your werewolf abilities, you left out superstrength.”
“I didn’t want to brag,” he winked.
I laughed, and in that moment, I realized that somewhere along the way, my heart had chosen him without any conscious decision-making. I hadn’t offered it or given it. Was that love? I’d only known him for a few days.
Did it matter? We’d found each other. And maybe he’d been what I’d been waiting for, all along. I grabbed the bottom of his T-shirt and pulled it up and off him. His muscled chest was dusted with dark hair down the center. He wasn’t gym-rat ripped but more toned from hard work.
I lifted my gaze to his face, and his smile made heat flush my cheeks. Could he see me blushing in the dim light?
He grinned. “I was going to say my eyes are up here, but then I thought, fuck it. I like knowing you’re looking at me.”
I rolled my eyes, unable to wipe the grin off my face as my hands wandered up his abs. “Not my fault you’re so sexy.”
His hands slipped under the back of my shirt, teasing the hot skin of my back. “Oh, baby, I’ve got nothing on you.”
I rose on my toes and kissed him, my tongue reaching for his. He gave me everything I wanted, tilting his head to deepen the kiss. I did need him, more than I’d ever realized I could need or want anyone. He walked me backward until my back pressed against the smooth rocks. I freed the button of his jeans, and he growled into my mouth.
“You sure?”
“Yes,” I gasped. “Now.”
The kiss went from hot to scorching as we scrambled out of our clothes, fusing our lips back together as each piece hit the rocks. He lifted me up, and I wrapped my legs around his waist as the tip of his erection brushed my opening. Suddenly, rational thought pierced through the haze of desire.
I groaned. “Condoms.”
His mouth trailed down my neck as he whispered, “I can’t get you pregnant unless I make you a shifter first.”
“And you…?”
“Haven’t been with anyone in… Fuck, I can’t remember it’s been so long… A year or more? I’m clean.” His teeth teased my shoulder. “It’ll kill me, but we can get dressed and go back if you’d rather…”
I nibbled at his earlobe and whispered, “Don’t you dare stop.”

#2 – Blood Moon – Gareth is still one of my all-time favorite tortured heroes I’ve ever written, and while he was tormented, his mate, Nadya was a bright light facing the abyss of death. They were passionate and readers still send me messages about the motorcycle scene! *fanning self* Here’s a little tease…
Once we were down the mountain and heading toward Reno, I released one hand from the grip and reached back to touch the cool skin of her thigh. Even with the wind on my face and blowing past my ears, I heard the moan deep in her throat. Having the hearing of a werewolf didn’t suck. I tightened my hold on her leg, wishing like hell my arm was longer so I could slide my hand even higher.
Suddenly her cool fingers brushed the skin on my abdomen. My grip tensed on the one handlebar. She freed another button on my tux shirt and slid her whole hand inside.
My entire body ignited with desire.
I released her leg, putting both hands on the grips, and gave the Harley more gas. We needed to be back at my place. Now.
By the time I rolled into the garage, Nadya’s nimble fingers had my shirt untucked and completely unbuttoned. The only casualty of the night was my bow tie. I could buy another one.
As the big door closed behind us, Nadya dropped her helmet to the ground, her lips teasing my earlobe as her hands explored my bare chest. I pulled off my half-bucket helmet, tossing it aside as I twisted to kiss her. She opened her mouth, welcoming my exploration as my tongue found hers. I growled at the spicy taste of her.
She hooked her leg over my thigh, and I ran my hand higher, under her skirt. Her fingers wandered lower, stroking me right through my pants. I rocked my hips forward, groaning into the kiss.
Enough with having her behind me.
Planting my feet on either side of the Harley, I was grateful for the added werewolf strength in my legs. I kept the heavy bike steady between my thighs as I grabbed her knee, moving her leg around my waist before I reached back to her hip and shifted her all the way around until she was facing me. Nadya sat on the flathead tank of the bike, in front of me, her long legs tight around me, dress hiked up to her waist.
Oh yeah, this was much better.
Holding her tight, I deepened the kiss, my tongue demanding hers. Nadya stopped stroking me just long enough to unfasten and unzip my pants. She reached inside, her soft hands freeing me of the confines of the fabric.
I growled against her lips. “Better slow down or I’ll take you right here on the bike.”

#3 – Night Child – Issa and Muriah’s story was dark and dangerous and sparking with passion. The end of this book still makes me cry every time! Here’s a little tease…
The rational part of her brain agreed with him wholeheartedly and screamed at her to wake up and rescind her offer, but after a lifetime of bad boy adrenaline rushes, this was too hard to resist. Ever since she’d been old enough to understand what Lukas was, that there really were blood-drinkers in the world, she’d been fascinated.
Here was a chance to experience it with a sexy Night Walker…whom she’d just met.
She muzzled the mental voice spouting off reason and dove head first into the familiar pool of no-strings-attached sensation. “You gave me your word that you’d bring me back to The Dimension’s Den.” Muriah held eye contact, refusing to retreat from her request. “If I can’t trust the word of a Mayan god, who can I trust?”
Issa’s entire body tensed. His muscles contracted like it took every ounce of his self-control not to touch her. She watched him, willing him to come closer.
“The silence is making me nervous.” She wet her lips, taking a step closer to him. “Talk to me. Tell me how it all works.”
Issa stared down into her eyes. “Usually, you would be mesmerized by now, eager to follow my commands.”
“I’m not much of a ‘command’ follower.” Her heart pounded so hard, Muriah could almost hear it in her ears. “Will it hurt?”
His strong hand cupped her cheek, and even though his skin was cool, the touch comforted her. “Perhaps for a moment, but I promise you, I can ease the pain.” His voice was deep and soft, sensual. Heat bloomed in her abdomen, radiating through her body.
She swallowed the wave of desire, struggling to keep her thoughts straight. “Can I see them?” A crease marred his perfect brow, and she added, “Your fangs. Can I see them?”
He remained silent, and for a second, she thought he might give her one of his holier-than-thou-Gods-don’t-perform-to-impress-mortals speeches. Instead, he reached for her hand and brought it to his lips. He pressed a soft kiss to her knuckles, his dark eyes locked on hers, and as he lowered her hand slowly, his lips remained parted enough for her to see the sharp tips of his fangs.
Her knees went weak. Dangerous and sexy all at the same time. She forced air into her lungs and rested her hand against his chest. Mistake. If she hoped to catch her breath, touching him wasn’t the way to do it. His body was chiseled through the thin fabric of his button-down shirt, like a statue of masculine perfection.
His eyes changed, lightening until they glowed crimson. What was left of the rational part of her brain begged her to put some distance between them, but her body was way beyond listening.
“Your eyes…” She whispered, breathless.
He leaned in closer to her, his mouth hovering over hers while his gaze demanded her attention, claiming her on a primal level. “They burn when I hunger for blood…or flesh.”
She tipped her head up, her lips nearly brushing his. “Which do you want right now?”
“Both.” He closed the distance between them, kissing her as he wrapped her in a tight embrace.

#4 – Blue Moon – Logan and Vivi had a very rocky second chance romance, but I wasn’t prepared for the steaminess of this rock star werewolf! Here’s a sneak peek…
Heat rose in my cheeks. “You guys were awesome tonight.”
Stryker stood between the other two with his arms draped over their shoulders. “And we’ve still got two songs left.”
“Should I go back to my seat?”
Levi shook his head. “Nah, stay here. We sent one of our guys to get your friend, so she should be back here soon, too.”
Logan finished the song, and the guys ran onstage, each one kissing my cheek as they passed. I laughed, shaking my head and applauding from the wings. Logan bowed and lifted the guitar strap over his head, jogging toward me. His roadie took the neck from him, and Logan’s arms slid around me, lifting my feet off the ground as our lips met.
I opened my mouth, and his tongue twined with mine as my fingers tightened into fists in the back of his wet hair. He growled. I couldn’t hear it over the music, but it rumbled from his chest into mine. I had never wanted a man naked so desperately in my whole life.
He broke the kiss and hummed against my ear. “After this show, you’re mine. All night. And then some.” His teeth brushed my ear as he added, “I fucking loved having you here tonight.”
He set me down, and it took all I had to stay upright. He adjusted himself in his jeans and chuckled, shaking his head. “You’re mine.”
His ass looked amazing in those jeans as he ran back to center stage and started singing. I wanted to pinch myself because I really was his.
And he was mine.
***
After the show, the celebratory beers were finished, the equipment broken down, and my best friend and Levi seemed to be hitting it off. Madison was rarely the flirty type, but somehow the keyboard player had her giggling and touching his arm like they’d been dating for weeks.
Logan hustled, packing things up, but every time his eyes caught mine, desire smoldered in his gaze, his intention clear, like he’d burned with thirst for days, and I was the only thing that could quench it. I pressed my thighs together tight, trying to soothe the ache.
Finally, he grabbed my hand, tugging me with him into the shadows backstage.
I followed. “What about Madison?”
“Levi said he’d take her home.”
“Where are we going?”
“My dressing room.”
We hurried down a dimly lit staircase and past doors with name tags until we reached Logan’s. He opened the door and his lips met mine. He kicked it closed, the deadbolt clicking into place before he walked me farther into the room. When my butt hit a table, he broke the kiss.
“Turn around.”
I stared into his eyes for a second, before complying with his demand. When I turned, I found myself looking at my reflection in the mirror. The dressing room lights surrounded it like a frame, but with the rest of the lighting off, only the center of the mirror was visible. Just us.
His gaze locked on mine as his hands slid slowly up from my hips. His fingers splayed wide, teasing me as they made their slow journey up my waist while his lips were at my ear. “I want you to see how sexy you are, and hot you make me.”
His erection rubbed my ass as he cupped my breasts. His strong fingers, which had made magic on the guitar less than two hours ago, now played my body like a master until my back arched, pressing my hips back into his and my breasts into his palms. I reached behind me, dragging my nails up the outsides of his thighs.
He lifted my shirt off over my head and stared at my red satin bra, his teeth brushing my ear.
“You drive me crazy. I want to take this slow and savor you all night, but damn.” He slid his hands inside my bra, teasing my nipples. “It’s all I can do not to strip you naked and fuck you right now.”
My eyes locked on his in the mirror. I wet my lips, my face flushed with heat from the beers we shared, and I whispered, “As long as I can watch.”

#5 – Pirate’s Promise – Greyson and Aura were both weapons experts and this enemies to lovers story had so much fire! LOL Here’s a little peek…
She gripped the handle and channeled her nervous energy into saving the ship. “What about you? Did you always want to be a pirate?”
He wiped the sweat from his brow. The veins on his arms were enlarged from the exertion. She wet her lips as another wave of heat gathered low in her belly.
“No.” He crossed his arms, surprising her with his defensive posture.
When he didn’t elaborate, she asked, “So, what did you think you were going to be?”
A muscle jumped in his cheek. “A knight.”
His stern expression told her he wasn’t kidding, and she focused on the pump to keep from smiling. “Wow. How did you go from that to piracy?”
“Family curse, I guess.”
She looked up at him as she switched hands. Her shoulder ached already, but the water level was noticeably lower, just above her ankles now. It was working. “I don’t understand.”
“My grandfather was tried and hanged, twice, for piracy. His fate became mine. There was no redemption for me.” He shrugged, but the shadows in his eyes spoke volumes.
From everything she’d seen of this man since she’d been trapped on this ship, he had the heart of a knight. He protected his friends with his life and had even saved her when she obviously wasn’t part of his crew. He’d promised to help her recover the Tyrfing even though she’d insulted him.
“Bob mentioned something about a rope around your neck.” In the short time she’d known him, Greyson’s lust for life had been contagious. She didn’t want to imagine how close he’d come to having it taken from him.
He cursed under his breath. “The old salt talks too much. Should’ve lost his tongue instead of his eye.”
Seeing the pain in his eyes made her wish she hadn’t asked. She shook her head. “You don’t mean that.”
“Probably not.” He crossed to her and reached for the pump handle. “Let me finish this.”
“Thanks.” She straightened, stretching her back and rolling her shoulders. Searching for a way to change the subject, she asked, “So, what’s your real name?”
He raised a brow. “Greyson. I never change it.”
“What about your family name?”
He focused on the pump. “Kidd.”
Her eyes widened. “Are you Captain Kidd?”
She was no expert of the history of piracy, but Captain Kidd had been one of the few pirate captains she remembered. He was from Scotland, and legends persisted that his treasure was still stashed somewhere, never recovered.
“No. That’d be William, my grandfather.” He met her eyes. “He was executed for piracy. His body hung over the Thames for three years, as an example to other would-be pirates.” He broke eye contact. “I couldn’t escape his legacy. When a ship’s stash of spices and gold went missing, I became the target.”
Her chest tightened, but she’d come this far. “They tried you…”
He nodded. “The noose was already around my neck when I decided I wasn’t ready to die for my grandfather’s sins.”
“You escaped?” She rubbed at the ache in her shoulder.
“Aye.” He finally stopped pumping and straightened up. “I cut down the hangman and then the rope. I ran for the nearest ship. The Sea Dog was weighing anchor, and I gave my oath to Captain Flynn to sail with him.”
The pain in his eyes revealed a younger man, not the jaded immortal pirate. This was a window to a young man who’d had his dreams taken from him and then made the best of the hand he’d been dealt.
She could relate more than she wanted to admit. And there was so much more to him than she’d ever realized.
The ship pitched again, reminding her that the storm outside was still raging and docking in Glasgow was far from a given. If this was her last night on earth, she was going to make it count.
***
He waited for her to make some flippant remark about pirates or maybe pass judgment on him for killing the hangman.
Aura’s eyes searched his. “You didn’t steal the gold.”
“No.” He shook his head. “I didn’t.”
She studied his face and finally whispered, “Had you ever killed a man before?”
His foot splashed in the water as he moved closer to her. The level wasn’t rising. Drake must’ve gotten the leaks plugged. Greyson stopped in front of her, unable to explain the pull to be near her. He’d earned a place on the Sea Dog based on his family reputation and the noose around his neck. Flynn had smuggled him below the deck and sailed away, eager to welcome a descendant of the famed Captain Kidd.
In all this time on earth, he’d never set the record straight about that day with anyone before. He allowed Flynn and the rest of the crew to believe he’d taken the gold.
He’d allowed everyone to mold him into a pirate like his grandfather before him.
He didn’t understand why, but standing before her, he lowered his pirate colors and allowed Aura to see the man underneath. The man who wanted to fight for right, to protect others.
“I’d never taken a life before that day.” With his gaze locked on hers, he shook his head slowly. “But I didn’t want to lose mine, either. Not for a crime I didn’t commit.”
“You were innocent.” There was no condemnation in her voice. “And you defended yourself.” She lifted her hand to caress his cheek, her gaze falling to his mouth and back to his eyes. He’d never wanted to claim a woman’s lips more, but he wouldn’t. Not until she asked.
Even if it meant he’d have blue balls for the rest of eternity.
She wet her lips. “Kiss me,” she whispered.
He blinked, searching her eyes. “I’m too exhausted for your games.”
“No games.” She rested her hand over his heart. “I’m asking. Kiss me?”
He caught her waist, scooping her up as he fused his lips to hers and walked her over to the hull of the ship. All the pent-up emotions she’d unleashed in him fed into the passion burning him from the inside out. He’d never wanted anyone so urgently in his long life.
She wrapped her legs around him, and he pressed her back against the cool wood. His tongue wrestled with hers, hungry to get even closer, to explore every inch of her. His erection pulsed between them, making him ache to tear off their wet clothes.
Her hands fisted in the back of his wet hair, pulling at his braids, a delicious ache, distracting him from the fire in his sore shoulders. She tilted her head, deepening the kiss as she rocked her hips against him, tempting him to lose control.
Would it be so bad? Maybe if they had sex, it would defuse this tension between them. He could get this hunger for her out of his system and stop caring what she thought of him. They’d steal the Tyrfing and go their separate ways.
He broke the kiss with a breathless growl. “I need you. Closer.”
The fire in her eyes intoxicated him.
She slid her hands between them, her fingers opening the button on his wet jeans. He pressed her tighter against the hull and opened her pants as he kissed her again. She tasted like cinnamon and salt water. He couldn’t get enough.

#6 – Breath of Passion – When I wrote Reed and Erica’s story, I knew it would be hot, but I wasn’t expecting all the heart in this book. Erica was the Muse of Erotic Poetry, and Reed was a firefighter with a past… Together sparks flew! Here’s a tease…
Reed ran a hand up her smooth thigh. From the moment he’d met Erica on the airstrip a few weeks before, he hadn’t been able to get her out of his head. He’d dreamed of tasting her mouth, worshiping her curves, and hearing her gasping his name, only to wake up alone.
He was treading on thin ice with this woman, like a moth drawn to a raging inferno. A single flame didn’t do her justice. She carried herself with a sexy confidence that lured him in.
Knowing she wanted him in return didn’t hurt, either.
Since that day, every time he saw Hunter and Callie, he caught himself hoping Erica might be there, too.
Dangerous.
His heart had been carved out the day he’d given up his dreams for a woman. A woman who lied more than she ever told the truth.
Fuck that shit. He’d never trust another person with his heart, or his future.
But his present was all Erica’s.
She pulled into the garage under a condo complex that overlooked the Pacific Ocean. It was way out of his price range, not that it mattered. He wasn’t moving in.
As soon as the garage door lowered, he slid his hand into her hair, drawing her in for another kiss. Her mouth tasted like sweet brandy and spice. Damn, she was delicious.
She ran her hands down his chest and tugged his shirt free from his jeans. He groaned as her cool hands explored his bare abs. His other hand wandered up from her waist, enjoying her curves until he was cupping her breast. She moaned into his mouth and arched her back into his touch, and he just about lost it right there.
He pulled back, his voice a husky whisper. “I need more room and fewer clothes.”
Her throaty chuckle had his erection pulsing, threatening to bust the damned zipper. Her eyes sparkled. “Let’s get inside.”
He followed her to the door, kissing her bare shoulder as she unlocked it and pulled him into her kitchen on the other side. He pinned her to the wall beside the doorframe, fusing his lips to hers. He couldn’t even pull away to shut the— The door slammed. Good.
She unzipped his jeans, releasing the pressure for a split second before she grasped his shaft right through his boxers. He groaned, his teeth tugging on her lower lip. She stroked him slow and firm until his hips worked into her despite his effort to make this last. He gripped her waist and lifted her up onto the counter, pushing her knees apart so he could get between them.
He trailed kisses down her neck while he drank in the scent of her skin. Every part of her called to him, the desire distracting him from the burning sensation shooting through the birthmark on his ankle. He could worry about that later. Much later.
She leaned back, her breasts begging for his attention. He pulled the strap off one shoulder and tugged it lower until her nipple was exposed. Licking the tip, he ran his hands up her legs, raising her skirt until it was around her waist.
Her fingers tangled in the back of his hair, pulling it, encouraging him as he traced the edge of her silky panties. He growled against her breast as he hooked his finger in the side of them. “I’ll buy you a new pair.”
